I added shrimp to my gnocchi– it paired incredibly well with the light acidity of the vodka sauce punctuated by hints of chili flakes and the creaminess of the stuffed gnocchi. Genuinely one of the most incredible entrées I have ever had in my life.

The Simple Salad is anything but simple. Its the best salad at 1833 & we order it often. Make it a complete meal by adding a protein of your liking.

I really wanted to enjoy my meal here, especially because I love French onion soup, but unfortunately the food missed the mark for our table. The French onion soup I ordered was so overwhelmingly salty that it was essentially inedible — it tasted like extremely salty hot water, and the salt completely overpowered any other flavor. I was with new friends and initially felt embarrassed to say anything, but when I finally did, it turned out I wasn't alone. One dinner companion ordered the clam chowder and felt the same way — it was so salty she couldn't finish it. Later that evening, she mentioned that while riding the elevator back to her hotel room, she overheard other guests also complaining about how salty their food was. Another friend ordered a burger and fries, and even she (someone who usually enjoys a lot of salt) commented that the fries were excessively salty. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, and the service itself was fine. The space is lovely, and this is clearly a nice place — but the amount of salt made it impossible for us to enjoy the meal. I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit it's intended: the food could be much better if they just eased up on the salt.
